the entire sentence is, The safest beaches in Mexico, will find here in the Mexican Caribbean. I know it isn’t a correct sentence but it has an implied subject that I need to add, can you supply it for me?
The sentence can’t be changed in anyway, it has to read exactly as is, just the subject has to be added. It is a question on a test I’m taking and it has me stumped.

Holidays in Egypt – Steeped in History, Great for Adventure

Posted on Jun 27, 2010 under European Beaches | No Comment

Steeped in history but very much a destination of the present, Egypt is still a land of mystery for many people.

Egypt is one of the few places which not only lives up to your dreams but exceeds them. Egypt is a land of ancient pharaohs brought to life by the Pyramids and other magnificent pharaohnic structures – and where the intoxicating culture and vibrant energy of modern-day Cairo touches your soul. It is also a place where you can kick back and laze on soft sand beaches or get adventurous among desert dunes and mountains or below the waves in crystal clear coral waters.

To give your holiday planning a start, here are 10 great reasons to visit Egypt.

Beaches: Queen of Egypt’s Red Sea Riviera is Sharm el Sheikh, the resort which began it all more than a quarter of a century ago. More recent Sinai Peninsula additions include designer resort Taba Heights, while Western Red Sea favourite Hurghada has been joined by the likes of El Gouna, Safaga and Makadi Bay. Watch out for the developing Mediterranean resorts, among them El Alamein and Porto Marina.

Nightlife: Hit the major Red Sea resorts at night and the streets buzz with life, from thronging cafes with hubble-bubble pipes to lively rooftop bars, while inside, clubs churn out the latest beats. Cairo’s historic Khan el Khalili bazaar district comes alive after dark with the atmospheric calls of traders trying to entice passers-by to stop.

Food and drink: Mint tea and strong Kahwa coffee, so thick you can almost stand the spoon up in it, are staple drinks; stuffed vine leaves, kebabs and humus are among local food specialities.

Adventure: The desert offers all sorts of action for adrenalin junkies, from wadi-bashing in 4×4 vehicles or quad bikes to sunset camel rides followed by dinner under the stars in a Bedouin camp. Head under the Red Sea to explore wrecks and see exquisite corals, tropical fish – and even a whale shark, if you are lucky.

Sport: Golf is an unlikely sport which has taken off in the country. You can tee off in and around Cairo, including under the shadow of the Pyramids, putt alongside the sparkling Red Sea and play seemingly within a chip shot of the pharaohs’ tombs. Windsurfing is popular on the Red Sea because of the constant breeze.

Cities: Experience the hustle and bustle of Cairo and you are seeing the real Egypt, laid bare. Haggle for bargain shoes and cotton goods in the markets of Cleopatra’s capital, Alexandria, and soak up the colourful sights, sounds and smells of Luxor’s markets before watching the evening sound and light show.

The Nile: The heart of the country, it runs from the south of the country through Luxor and on 500 miles to Cairo to flow into the Mediterranean by Alexandria. Take a Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan past astonishing edifices, and enjoy an excursion on a traditional sailing felucca. History: Egypt’s glorious monuments were already 2,500 years old when they were first seen by Greek historian Herodotus.

Shopping: There are shopping centre in resorts such as Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada, but the real joy of shopping is to barter with a local stallholder in one of the many markets. Never pay more than half to two-thirds the original asking price, and enjoy the sellers’ theatrics.

Sightseeing: You can’t rent a car and drive around Egypt, but coach tours go to all the top sights. Favourites include Cairo’s Pyramids, Egyptian Museum and Muslim Quarter, the Valley of Kings and temples of Karnak and Luxor in Luxor, and St Catherine’s Monastery and Mount Sinai, a day trip from Sharm

Many companies offer package holidays in Egypt, as well as superb Nile Cruise arrangements. The availabilty of cheap flights to Egypt from European cities also makes the country accessible and affordable for tailor made trips.

I am travelling cozumel, mexico on 21st, June. Is the cozumel beach is affected from oil spill?

Posted on Jun 25, 2010 under Mexico Beaches | No Comment

I really need to know this. Is the cozumel, Mexico beach is affected from oil spill or not? If so I have to cancel my trip. I am leaving on 21st June.

Warm ocean currents pass by Cancun and do loop before Alabama. Those same currents will take the Oil through the Florida Keys and then North to Canada. From there the current heads.
toward Europe.
The fact is, the world would come to an end before the "Slick" reaches Cancun.
There are loop current "Rings or Eddys" that drift and does not follow the current and these may reach Mexico`s gulf. Veracruz Texas and othere parts of the inner Gulf

Does the pools at Disney World’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans Resort (FQ or R) have lockers?

Posted on Jun 25, 2010 under Caribbean Beaches | No Comment

Does the pools at Disney World’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans Resort (FQ or R) have lockers and changing room like the value resorts? Last time we went to DW in 2008, it was nice on the day we flew out to check our luggage, and swim until it was time catch our transportation to the airport. It was a nice way to relax in the afternoon before flying back to Oklahoma.
It would help if someone has actually been to the resorts. I heard some resorts may not have this nice feature.

I’m sure they would have lockers

Do you think by July/August the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill will shut down beaches in Key West and Bahmas?

Posted on Jun 22, 2010 under Mexico Beaches | No Comment

I paid for a vacation package to Florida and planned of driving through the keyes. We also will be vacationing in the Grand Bahamas on Freeport to go snorkeling / swimming in the water. Do you think the oil (that is gushing thousands of gallons of oil per day) will reach that far and ruin the coral reef?
I Am scared now!

There are other places for you to holiday in, so don’t be scared.

Puerto Vallarta
Playa del Carmen
Nuevo Vallarta
Cancun

Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!
Guanajuato?
Merida?
Ixtapa?

Playa del Carmen for sure. Hang out by the Blue Parrot and you should find plenty of other ball players

Will the oil spill affect the beaches in Cozumel, Mexico?

Posted on Jun 16, 2010 under Mexico Beaches | No Comment

I am going on a trip to Cozumel in August this year, but i was debating on cancelling it because of the oil spill. I heard right now the current is taking the oil towards the U.S., but could that change? Especially with hurricane season beginning?

Neither will have any effect on the Maya Riviera. Ocean current simply do Not travel in that direction. God help the southern US if a hurricane brews anytime soon . That could turn some cities into oil slicks.
It is known as a" Loop Current"
In a worst case scenario the slick could carry on through the Keys and then up the coast to Newfoundland before turning toward Europe

Towns for Your Crete Sightseeing

Posted on Jun 09, 2010 under European Beaches | No Comment

Planning out any Cretan holiday can be a challenging job due to the sheer number of available options. There are several towns of significance, each having an abundance of modern infrastructure, archeological richness and natural beauty. You can choose any of these towns for your Crete Sightseeing, depending on your personal choice. Among these towns is Heraklion, the capital and the largest city of Crete. The city accounts for roughly about 15% of all arrivals into Greece through its international airport and consists of a flourishing hotel industry to add comfort to your Crete sightseeing. Heraklion is also where the Minoan archeological site called the Knossos Palace stands.

Chania is the next town for Crete sightseeing after Heraklion. With an official population of around 70,000 in the greater Chania, this second largest city of Crete has several tourist attractions to look around for. The city is roughly divided into two major elements, viz. the old and the new towns. The old one sprawls around the harbor area and carries one of the best ancient settings for holiday making in Greece and elsewhere. The town used to be encircled by the old Venetian fortifications, some of which survive even today adding to your Crete sightseeing plans. If the old town had spas, cafes and other recreational facilities carved out of the old heritage buildings, the new one will surprise you with its modern setting.

One could choose from a number of archeological places in Chania to add to one’s Crete sightseeing. Most of these places lie in Kasteli, Splantzia, Halidon street, at the harbor, in Topanas and the Jewish quarter. The combined tourist arrivals of the above two cities, i.e. Heraklion and Chania, form a decent percentage of the entire Greek tourism. Rethymno is another town, which could be added to one’s Crete sightseeing flavors. The town has a population of roughly 40,000 and a past dating back to antiquity. The old part of Rethymno, built during the Venetian era, is among the best preserved sites of its kind in today’s Crete.

Archeological remains have withstood the change of time, weather and man’s interference in Rethymno, to continue being listed along the best Crete sightseeing locations. These included buildings and harbor from the Venetian period, and stoned staircases and arched doorways from the Hellenic-Roman and Byzantine era. The city has a Venetian castle named the Fortezza, which is one of the largest and most preserved of its kind in the whole of Crete. One more town for Crete sightseeing is Ierapetra in the eastern Crete. It holds a population of about 24,000 and is widely known for its Greek, Roman and Venetian lineages.

Agios Nikolaos is another Crete sightseeing location, which lies east to Heraklion and is widely known for its tourism potential. The town plays a regional hub for 20 odd villages and is well connected through Nikos Kazantzakis airport with the mainland Greece and the European cities. The city is widely believed to have been inhabited since the Bronze period. Crete sightseeing locations within Agios Nikolaos include, the Lake Voulismeni, the island Agioi Pantes, beaches along the coastal region, the local archaeological museum and one key flora exhibition “Iris”.

Where are the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean for Honeymooners?

Posted on Jun 07, 2010 under Caribbean Beaches | No Comment

My fiancé and I are looking for a location for our 2 week honeymoon in September. The most important thing to me is a flawless beach with white sand – something visually stunning and pristine. We want to spend one week at an all inclusive type resort, and another week at something a little more private/exclusive. We want to go somewhere that is adults only, 4 or 5 stars.

I’ve been to resorts before with mediocre, small beaches. I want to go to one that will take my breath away with its beauty. Any suggestions? Thank you!!

My favorite is the 7 mile stretch of white sand that meets the cliffs and caves of Negril Jamaica but there are many others. Check out my link onthe best Caribbean Beaches.
