My family and I (4 people) are looking for a good place to go for a week. At most $150 a night for hotels and good hotels with great lounging areas and events and a family friendly environment. We are looking for any beaches with white sand and clear waters with huge waves. If you can support info I’ll give an easy 10 points!!!

Hi hun!!!

that sounds like a fantastic idea!!! Colombia has GORGEOUS beaches.

There is a city called Cartagena, it is one of the most beautiful cities you can go to (and a UNESCO World Heritage Site). It is said to be a combination of Miami, Cancun, and New Orleans.
It has a modern area with big high rises and a great hotel area but it also has a colonial zone, a part of the city which was built by the spaniards when Colombia was a spanish colony. It is beautiful and it almost takes you to the past. There is also a castle called "castle of San Felipe de Barajas" which surrounds the entire city and it was also built by the spaniards and this castle was never defeated, and you get a great view from the entire city in the castle.
The culture is also great, the people are EXTREMELY NICE, the food is DELICIOUS, the nightlife is excellent and the restaurants are world class.

The beaches are very nice too.

Here are some great videos showing the city: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3NtREzbjXc

(look at all of them, they are really great!!)

Here’s the official Colombia travel web site describing Cartagena… http://www.colombia.travel/en/international-tourist/vacations-holidays-where-to-go/cartagena-travel-guide

Good luck and enjoy Colombia!!!!<33

Where to go in the Caribbean for beaches, snorkling and rainforest?

Posted on Jul 23, 2010 under Caribbean Beaches | No Comment

I am planning on a trip to the Caribbean or Mexico. Hoping to find a place with nice beaches, snorkeling and the possibility of some land based activities or some rainforest/waterfalls. I would like to avoid the more touristy areas, and package resort deals but at the same time keep the accommodations reasonably priced. I don’t need anything fancy but near the beach would be preferred. Anyone out there been there and have any suggestions??
Thanks!

You are describing Costa Rica perfectly!

into partying, beaches, meeting young people our age. 24. and culture

I know it’s not in Central America but I recommend you go to Cartagena, Colombia. Much better than Central American cities. Look it up in youtube, google, or wikipedia. Perfect for what you are looking fore. It’s like Colombia’s Cancun or Miami.

Do you think the BP oil spill will show up on the beaches of Mexico?

Posted on Jul 15, 2010 under Mexico Beaches | No Comment

Maybe only then will Obama take more serious action…because we all know how he puts the feelings of Mexican in front of us Americans.

Your thoughts?

My thoughts? This is a pretty dumb question. There is nothing more President Obama can do about the oil spill.

Is the beaches in Clearwater infected by oil spill in the golf of mexico?

Where is the best place for a single man to go in Central or South america?

I am currently doing a 13 month tour in Afghanistan. We ge 15 days of R&R and I would like to go somewhere like Brazil, Dominican Republic or Columbia. The 15 days will be in November. Where is the best place for someone like me to go? I am interested in meeting beautiful women, beaches and nightlife. I am not interested in prostitutes. Also, I would like to live large, spending as little money as possible.

Nicaragua should be on your list of choices. You can have a good vacation and pay very little if you manage to stick with hostels. Traveling around is inexpensive. If you can manage buses, you’ll save money that you can use for other things. Otherwise, you can take cabs for a relatively cheaper price in comparison to other Latin American countries and the United States. Speaking Spanish will serve to your benefit in getting good deals from hotel rooms to artisan crafts. The people, especially the women, are nice. There is great nightlife there and in Managua, the country’s capital. San Juan del Sur bay is an amazingly beautiful beach with great waves for surfing.
