My boyfriend and I are looking to take a romantic but fun getaway to a beach. We live in Cincinnati, Ohio so we’d like something that wouldn’t take too long by plane. We love to hike, bike, swim, and body board. Also, whale-watching or dolphin swimming would be a plus. We do not drink, so as for nightlife, we don’t really care about the "bar" life. Does anyone have any recommendations from places they have actually been to? Thanks!!
I live in Orlando, so if I head to a beach – it needs to be warm – not like the cold water of the shores of New York/New Jersey. One of my favorite areas is the Outer Banks of North Carolina – try Nags Head, Kitty Hawk. The northern portion of the outer banks are a bit "quieter". Great beaches and a sand dunes area. You can rent bikes all over the island. Another area you may check out is Sanibel and Captiva Islands in Florida(you would fly into Ft Myers). Just a couple of thougths.

Myrtle Beach, SC.

San Diego, Ca. is not far from some very nice hiking areas, has beautiful beaches and daily whale watching boat trips from the piers.
La Jolla, Ca has some of the best surfing in the continental U.S. but no whale watching (just a short drive to San Diego) and some really excellent hiking.
