Ocracoke Islands, Outer Banks, North Carolina is another favorite beach for vacationers. This is basically due to fact that this sand is composed mainly of pure quartz that has been brought down by Appalachian Mountains. The list of Florida’s superb coastlines extends to many other beaches but giving space to other seashores in U.S. are the following water bodies.

Massachusetts, Coast Guard Beach at Cape Cod is major swimming beach during summer season. The region has limited parking space and even that remains closed during summer days. Visitors to the place are taken to and fro by specific shuttle bus services provided at those days. The place is excellent for hiking opportunities.

After months of painstaking research, this beach-bum has narrowed Kauai’s beaches down to the five most beautiful. But don’t take my word for it – plan a Hawaii vacation and get out of your hotel room or Kauai vacation rental to find out for yourself. And before heading out into the water, check out the Kauai surf report for current ocean conditions.

1. Kauapea (Secret) Beach: Ask where Kauapea Beach is and you’ll probably receive a blank stare. Locals call this “Secret Beach”. And while the secret is out, the beach itself is long enough that you’ll never feel crowded. Hike down a muddy jungle track on Kauai’s north shore and you’ll learn how Gilligan must have felt. Bikinis required by law, optional in practice.

2. Kealia Beach: A broad sweeping beach popular with local surfers, east-facing Kealia can be as treacherous as it is beautiful. Not a beach for swimming, Kealia is the site of frequent bon fires, picnics, romantic barefoot walks and wave watching. Long board riders, lovers and dogs with Frisbees welcome!

3. Mahaulepu Beach: Hike the dramatic coastline of limestone cliffs east of the Grand Hyatt and you’ll come to Mahaulepu Beach. Depending on the season and sea conditions, this is the place for kite surfing, fishing, sunbathing or frolicking in the waves. Many on Kauai are actively fighting to keep Mahaulepu undeveloped, and with good reason. Golden sand dunes, blue seas and soaring green mountains make this beach one of Kauai’s most beautiful.

4. Poipu Beach: Easily accessible from hotels and vacation rentals, the eternal sunshine, swaying palm trees and aquamarine waters make Poipu one of the most popular beach resorts areas in Hawaii. Poipu actually refers to a five mile stretch of more than a dozen sandy beaches and surf points. When people talk about “Poipu Beach”, they are usually referring to Poipu Beach Park and Brenneke’s Beach. Poipu is the quintessential Hawaiian beach, perfect for families with small children, teens, couples, surfers, whale watchers, snorkelers and sun-worshipers.

5. Kekaha/Polihale Beach: Starting at Kauai’s most westerly town, Kekaha Beach is a seemingly endless expanse of sand that runs 17 miles west to magical Polihale Beach. One of Kauai’s most isolated beaches (check your rental agreement before you venture down the long pot-hole riddled dirt road!), Polihale is certainly one of the most beautiful and unforgettable. Polihale’s sea can appear calm as a lake in summer or as explosive as aquatic dynamite in the winter and sunsets here are as beautiful as you’ll find on any tropical island.

The above are five of Kauai’s most beautiful beaches. One could easily argue that dozens of other beaches around the island deserve to be on the list and indeed, next time they may. Your best bet is to grab a towel, a swim suit and get yourself onto one of these beaches on your next Kauai vacation.

And being able to relax on the beach and catch some rays over the Christmas and New Year festivities is enough in itself to tempt many to take a holiday in Lanzarote then.

But now a leading internet site has confirmed what many holidaymakers to Lanzarote already knew – that not only are the beaches great but one Lanzarote beach ranks among the best in the world.

The site points out that while Lanzarote is just a hundred miles off Africa, it is Spanish, and describe the locals as ‘passionate’. And of Lanzarote’s 90 beaches they say the best one, which ranks among the best in the world, is on the south of the island, at Caleta del Congrio, with an 87 per cent privacy rating.

They also suggest that those who like wind surfing should head for a different Lanzarote beach – the four mile long Famara Beach.

Other areas that were in the top beach list include Barbados, Turkey, Paros in Greece, Loreto in Mexico and Malibu in California.

World class beaches and water sports aren’t all that await Lanzarote tourists though. Puerto Del Carmen for example, which is one of the island’s most popular towns for holidaymakers, is a hub of excitement for many family activities.

And if the Lanzarote tourist is looking for a sports filled holiday rather than a family one, Puerto Del Carmen offers sports enthusiasts a wide range of activities. Locally owned diving shops often take tourists on amazing underwater adventures to various places around the island. Diving schools are available for those who wish to learn to dive or snorkel.

Windsurfing, swimming, boating, jet skiing and paragliding are also very popular water sports enjoyed by many locals and tourists. Sports enthusiasts also can enjoy golfing, cycling, running, hiking, camping and other local activities, including the Ironman competition.

Costa Teguise, another area favoured by tourists taking holidays in Lanzarote, is the smallest of the three large resorts on the island. It is about 6 miles northeast of the capital city Arrecife. The entire resort is built on former lava fields and saltpans. The resort consists of several apartment blocks, bungalows and villas. Primary attractions are the golf course, a marina, commercial shops and entertainment. Many visitors enjoy the water park in the outskirts of the resort.

Playa Blanca is a quieter area of the island, and often preferred by those who take villa holidays rather than hotel accommodation. Once a small fishing port, Playa Blanca is very popular with families due to its size and many family friendly beaches. Two more beaches were recently added to Playa Blanca to help make up for the lack of space on the main central beach. Along the well maintained and manicured streets there are several shops, restaurants and clubs. Lanzarote’s Playa Blanca offers many sports and attractions for tourists of all ages.

But above all, if Lanzarote should be a magnet for any particular type of tourist, it has to be the beach lover – there’s 90 to choose from including one of the best in the world!
